Share:
"Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) national rabies surveillance program. Rabies is a reportable disease under the Health of Animals Act. All suspect cases in any animal must be reported to the province for follow-up. All suspect rabies cases are verified at a Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) rabies laboratory. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) collects and updates rabies submissions and cases on the 28th day of each month or the first business day thereafter. In Canada, the animals that most often transmits rabies are bats, skunks, and foxes."
