Dorrestein et al. (2025) studied communication between veterinary practitioners and dairy cattle producers during herd health visits. One of their conclusions was "This lack of gaining the farmer's perspective was also underscored by the small number of open-ended questions participating veterinarians asked compared with closed questions, a pattern that Ritter et al. (2018) also observed in Canadian bovine veterinarians."
