Social housing for dairy calves: Farmer acceptance of Canadian industry-led requirements

Koralesky et al. studied farmer acceptance of group housing practice in Alberta and BC. They found that “Acceptance of the social housing requirement varied. Some farmers explained that their concerns had been heard by attending seminars or providing feedback on the proposed requirements. Others felt that their interests had not been adequately represented, and disagreed with a requirement to change farm practices they believed were working on their farm.”
